2012 December - James Street Art Crawl

For December's Art Crawl, we set up our booth amid the vibrant bustle of Centre[3] 's print studio. From this luxuriant comfort and warmth (as you may well imagine), we demonstrated bookbinding tips and techniques to casual passerbys, sparking some unusual interactions (which IS what the Crawl is all about). The highlights of the night included wielding my hot-glue gun (which I always carry in my purse) to rescue someone's hatband, discussing the finer points of mounting antique portrait photos, and arguing whether the resurgence of the handbound book is bookbinding's death rattle, or it's rallying cry.
